A living memorial for your animal companion
Remington's Story

Before going to pick up Remington, I went to Target to pick up some items for him. It was a great trip because I felt that Romeo was with me and helping pick out the items. We bought him several toys, a waterbowl, and various treats.

Shortly after we left Bothell, we reached Bellevue where it started to rain. As we drove East to Pasco, over the mountains, the rain increased. The closer we were, the heavier the rain. Then all of a sudden out of nowhere, a small opening appeared and there was a rainbow. We knew at once that was a sign to let us know where were to go. We approached the house and the rain almost stopped completely. We were outside, and here came the puppy, right towards us, we knew he would be Remington. The children played with the puppies and named him Chicken Nuggets. Talking with the breeder, we found out that he was born on April 22nd. The same day as our Rudi but three years later.

After arriving back home from Pasco, we took Rudi and Remington into the apartment. Greg went for a walk after that. When he came back in, he picked up Remington. To our surprise, an angel appeared on the wall behind them. We knew Romeo was also with us once again. After putting Remingting down on the floor, he walked over to Romeo's picture on the wall. He then barked at it, almost as saying that he is here to watch over Mommy and Daddy. He hasn't barked at that picture since then. We felt that Romeo has chosen Remington and that is why we saw the rainbow going to the house with puppies.

After Remington's arrival, it took Rudi about three days to get over her sadness of losing her older brother Romeo. She was also jealous of all of the attention that her new baby brother was getting. But after three days, they were the best of friends. Remington was a funny character as he would love to sleep on plastic container lids. He also walked on curbs instead of the sidewalks. And just like Romeo after it rained, Remington would always look for the narrowest crossing of running water. He didn't like to walk in water. Shortly after, we started noticing a strange behavior in Remington. He started staring into the fireplace. We couldn't figure out what he was doing so we just started taking pictures of it. We were shocked at the following images that were captured. The fireplace had a glass door and chained screen to protect him from touching the hot glass. He started to chew on the screen, as though he wanted to go in, or maybe let something out. We thought of every possibility but could never explain the images seen in the fireplace pictures.

Today is moving day. We are moving from Bothell to Des Moines, WA. Not only was there a big yard to play in, there are kids in the neighborhood. Remington really enjoyed barking at little kids and bicycles going by. His favorite Saturday and Sunday morning walks were up at the police academy outdoor running track. Not only were there people to say hello to, there were plenty of squirrels to chase.

Remington really liked to groom Rudi. As Rudi laid there, Remington would lick her eyes. After she had enough, she would move but he would simply follow her.

Just like Romeo and Rudi, Remington didn't enjoy the fireworks. He was afraid and wanted to hide. So we built a tent in the house using a card table and blanket. He was able to relax a little bit more with us in there with him.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! Remington really liked the back yard in the winter time. Running in the snow, especially when deep, was one of his favorite things to do.

Here we go again, moving to our new house in Hubbard, OH. Remington really enjoyed the one acre lot and the park down the street. Like before, we took a walk to the park every Saturday and Sunday. The other days we took smaller walks around the neighborhood.

We are now moving back in to the Wilson St house again. Remington met a new friend while on a walk.
